Naturals on the set of Kunle Afolayan's movie, "Phone Swap"

Last year, I had the opportunity to visit the set of Kunle Afolayan's Phone Swap.
It was refreshing to see a lot of naturals on the set (by my standards, there were a lot). And the naturals included both crew and cast.  Very cool, I thought.

Another interesting thing about the movie was the fact that the writer, Kemi Adesoye wrote the female lead, Mary, specifically as a character with locs. I got a chance to talk with Nse Ikpe Etim who plays Mary, about hair and movies. (I'm sure many of you must have seen Nse Ikpe-Etim spotting her natural hair around town. )

I also got a chance to talk with Lydia Forson, the Ghanaian actress who is also in the movie, about her natural hair. I'll be putting up Nse's interview first and then Lydia's interview will follow. Stay tuned beautiful people.
