Tayo's twist out up-do

We interviewed Tayo on Monday (read it here) and she sent a picture of a cute twist-out up-do. Here is how she achieved the style in her own words.

"That particular style was actually a twist out gone wrong. LOL! I don't think I have clearer pictures of it but below is how I did it:

I basically separated a large fringe (section of hair) at the front of my hair from the rest (the part that looks like a wavy Mohawk) and packed the back into a high bun.
I gathered the front hair together, twisted the ends, then pinned it down as a fro.
I then used a head band (cut up tights, sprayed with conditioner and oil :) ) to smooth down the front.
The waves came from the twist which I had in for about a day.

Here's the video that inspired the look, just in case you're like me, and prefer practical visual instructions to  written instructions:

You'll notice in the video, she braided the the hair front to back till she got to her fro. I've used this particular method before. However, I usually twist the ends and fold them down as my hair is quite thick in that area and it comes out great.

Hope the above info will be of help to you. Have a lovely week. :)"

Keep it natural!
